Wallace group contributed a $500 Scholarship to the Geomatics Engineering Program at California State University, Fresno. The Geomatics program is full of energetic and eager future surveyors. The small program offers a variety of Surveying, GIS, Photogrammetry, GPS and Geodesy classes. The majority of these classes are offered once every school year with a schedule. This constricted and rigorous schedule makes it very difficult for students with financial need to work and earn an income.
Every year, the Geomatics Engineering students work unstoppably to organize an Annual Geomatics Engineering conference to raise awareness of the profession and also to fundraise for the program. The 56th Annual Geomatics Engineering Conference was held January 27th and 28th in Fresno. During this conference the students get awarded with scholarships to help their financial struggles. This year, like other previous ones, Wallace Group decided to contribute.
The lucky winner of the Wallace Group Scholarship was Jakob Lopez. Jakob is a junior in the program and his contribution to the Geomatics Conference was outstanding. He even took a trip from Fresno to visit WG and attend a local CLSA Chapter meeting. Jakob was extremely happy and thankful for this scholarship. He will be sending a Thank You letter soon.
