Wallace Group is proud of its work in the renewable energy field. We have been fortunate enough to participate in amazing projects like the Topaz Solar Plant. Our latest endeavor was working on the California Flats Solar Plant. We provided Civil Engineering and Surveying Services for this 280MW Utility Scale Solar Plant located in Eastern Monterey County.  Our services spanned from project entitlement through design and construction.  Our work began during project entitlement, where we provided technical studies of flooding, erosion, transportation requirements, and survey services including topographic mapping and title research and mapping. We provided supporting information for the acquisition of environmental permits, prepared review and comment on the project EIR, and prepared grading studies to define the potential project impacts.  During the project design, we prepared the design for the South 150 MW phase, and for the North 130 phase, providing review and oversight on behalf of the developer. This work included FLO-2D flood studies, analysis of various single axis tracker systems and their relationship to grading requirements. The final design included grading plans for the plant, substation, O&M Site, Move-on site, Access road, and processing of the project SWPPP.  Survey services included the preparation of pre-construction ALTA Maps for the developer, and post-construction ALTA Maps for the project developer and buyer.  We also prepared easement documents and provided review of the title issues identified in the project title policies.  https://youtu.be/oHafFNpsro4

Today marks ‘Get to Know your Customers’ Day, a national observance occurring once a quarter. As part of this observance, we would like to introduce one of our newest customers, the San Diego Zoo. We are supporting a new water recycling facility at the zoo’s safari park, utilizing our experience with pre-packaged treatment solutions. Spanning over 1,800 acres, the safari park is a sprawling wildlife sanctuary and a protected native species habitat. It is home to over 3,000 animals and a botanical collection of 3,500 species and 1.75 million specimens, making water a huge priority for developing and maintaining the habitat.
