San Luis Obispo, CA – Wallace Group provided surveying, landscape architecture and civil engineering for conceptual design approval and construction documents. Significant grade changes, cross-lot drainage issues and ADA accessibility were all addressed through close coordination between landscape architects and civil engineers. Issues of maintenance, durability, water efficiency and budget constraints were all finely balanced to maximize the tailgating experience and year-round functionality of this 40-space parking lot. Low Impact Development (LID) strategies were utilized throughout the site to manage stormwater impacts both above and below the project area. At-grade curbs, planted swales and ponds create a system to detain and infiltrate stormwater. Site amenities included an ADA accessible plaza, concrete pad for temporary event use, bike racks and function lawn area.
