Topaz Solar Farm March 5th, 2014

San Luis Obispo County, CA -Located in the Carrisa Plains in SLO County, Topaz Solar Farm will produce 550 megawatts of clean power. Wallace Group is proud to participate in this green energy project of 3,500 acres of photovoltaic solar array.

Project Entitlement: Wallace Group prepared technical reports for the permitting required from the Army Corps of Engineers, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Wallace Group assisted in the processing of over 80 separate construction permits.

Project Design: We created the civil engineering site design. This included the array fields, construction yards, access roads, highway and local road connections, construction and fire suppressing systems and erosion control. With 35 daily truck deliveries it was necessary to create a Traffic Control and Management Plan. Wallace Group prepared encroachment permits with two Caltrans districts.

Project Compliance: We used our expertise to verify and document project compliance. This included over two thousand documents and Wallace Group maintained an online system for use by the project team and agencies.

Wallace Group coordinated with the project biologists for their reports. We directly prepared special reports and processes for compliance, including: workforce Housing program, shuttle bus program (including several offsite employee parking lots) air quality programs, noise management program, residential screening program, groundwater management and reporting plan, drought water management plan, and a transportation control and management plan.
